Nothing, they have been very helpful to me and I appreciates their effort. I had the option to contuine with Ross, or go to St James or Xavier. I desided to go to Xavier. The only thing I can find that Xavier doesn't have is that they still do not apear in the WHOs list. But alltogether Xavier seem to be a very organazied. Are you contuiing or starting at Xavier?

    You chose Xavier over ROSS?????

I hope you're joking.... why in the world would you choose to leave ROSS and go to Xavier?

If you look at all the foreign medical school and you are honest with yourself. They all have one big thing in-common,... they are giving you that opportunity that the US schools didn't. So... No matter what school you pick you still have to pass the USMLE exams. So good luck in your endeavors

I thought maybe reasons of lower tuition fees, low university marks, low mcat scores, personal issues, etc.. may attract students to other newer schools rather than one of the more prestigous of carribean medical schools.

It is true that accredited schools give you the opportunity to write the USMLE, but the school you end up picking determines how much of a leap you will have over others in the way they prepare you, accreditation, reputation, etc.

In some ways you are right...looking back, St. George was the top school. Ross/Devry has pressed forward and is one of the big names in foreign Medical school of the Carib. But in my opinion some of their classes/instructor were not helpful/pretty weak. You might as well stayed in you room and learned the material on your own. Plus there is a lot of student per class. Being a gradute of Pen State with a 3.68 Ave. I was accepted to Pens Medical School for the following term. A friend of mine also from Pen told me about St. George, Ross, AUC, Spartan, all Carib schools, because one of his friends graduated from Ross and that we could start now instead of wait for the next term and the time frame of finishing in 3yrs not 4. I didn't want to wait a year, So I pack up my stuff and moved back to Atlanta with my Parent and went to Ross. I was a good student at Ross 8 to 5 five days a-week, studying in the library until it closed and getting back to your room for some more studying. On the week ends I studied in the morning for 3 hr, afternoon 2hrs and that evening 4hrs, and it did pay off. Myy grades were mostly high honors, never below a honor. Coming back to the state in Miami cost a lot more money then on the island, and since I have a place for FREE and with family in atlanta it did make a difference in my decission in changing schools, personal issues. My point to this is, true Pen State is not MIT but the opportunity was there. Same for foreign medical schools, they are giving you that opportunity.
