Did ANYONE match this year at all???

Last year, a lot of noise was made about the high match rate. Of course, it wasn't said that the most of them were scramble spots in the first annual clusterf#ck known as the SOAP...when the programs just turned off their filters and started looking at everyone. Now that the programs have figured out how to use the filters to their advantage, did ANYONE match...scramble or otherwise???

I am sure some students must have matched.

Nope...don't assume this. Nearly everyone has checked in, and nobody has. Now everyone is trying to figure out what to do with an MD and no residency.

Maybe at your school in St. Lucia, some have, Summer2014/ (formerly) Pnuli1234...but that's being just as optimistic without any data points to back it up.

I recently talked to one of the deans of clinical sciences, and he told me that 11/12 people who applied for the match did end up matching.

What school do you go to? We only have one clinical science dean and he just started a month or two ago! ECFMG and AAMC doesn't tell the school where any of its students have matched. So even if someone at the school did say "11/12 people ended up matching," that is flatly NOT TRUE. I personally know for a fact that is not true.

But lets give one of your clinical deans the benefit of the doubt. Anyone can claim they matched to protect their pride. The truth comes out when everyone starts/ed in the June/July start cycle when the programs start posting the pictures of their intern class.

So maybe you might want to do a google search for supposed programs, intern class, and Xavier. Notice the lack of results...then do the same search for St. George's or Ross as a test control!

Again, I'm not trying to push propaganda to make it look falsely positive...do a 2-second search and see for yourself.

actually the school can buy te match list from the nrmp, so the school CAN know...

if the school hasn't posted a match list on its website, then it either didn't buy the list or no one matched...and frankly any prospective should look at the lack of a match list on the official website as a red flag.

I am thinking of transferring to XUSOM from another carib school. The person I talked to is a dean of clinical sciences who was at the admissions office in Long Island. To verify, I did call up another other dean of clinical sciences, today in fact, and he said the match rate this year increased from 50-55 to 70%. I did do my research other than just calling. I don't know what your supposed sources are, but these are mine from school officials.

My sources are the ones who graduated with me....those who supposedly matched according to your sources. But if you want to believe them, by all means, go ahead. Just do yourself a favor and verify with an actual person. I could be just some "ghost of graduate's future" on a chat forum.

But if the now multiple clinical deans (by the way-check the xusom website to match the name that you talked to, to their actual title...as there is only one clinical dean) are telling you we all matched- ask where, or even who. If they cite confidentiality for the "who", at least you can look up the residency website and verify there is an Xavier grad in the intern class. If you don't even get the residency slots, then why are you even still talking to the "multiple deans?"

And just how many graduates put themselves through this much torture to finish, to not even try to get a residency? Does that even make common sense? Really?

I'm not bashing the school as a whole. Its just that this is a For-Profit Business. And the business environment for foreign schools has become dramatically more hostile by American Medical Schools lately. It wasn't until recently that they started diversifying their income streams with nursing students...and the bigger ones even have Vet schools to fall back on.

Frankly, it is NOT in any administrator's interest to correct you if you assumed something incorrectly-but is in their best interest to tell you a half-truth, and let you fill in the rest on your own. Technically, they wouldn't have lied. So I would encourage you to just be careful.

    Caveat Emptor...there are NO refunds.

No one from this joke of a school has ever matched or ever will.

When their dean fails the step 1 multiple times and then claims he got 11/12 people matched, its really a no brainer.

They have a 0% pass rate. Girls sleep with professors to get their MD, but even they do no match.

This school and all its employees are liars and trash. Do yourself a favor and stay away, if you don't you will be very very sorry.
