    Loans for XUSOM

    Advertisements

Can someone give me insight as how I would go about getting a loan for xusom, would I have to take out a private loan... or... I really don't know much about loans (since this will be the first time Im taking out one) I know that companies like wells fargo and sallie mae only comply to those schools which busniess with them and xusom does not do busniess with them... so do any current/past students have insight?

While its not legal to attend one school for the sole purpose of using the stipend that fafsa allows banks to loan you at a subsidized interest rate, to pay for another, the grey area that xusom and most other non-U.S. Department of Education approved schools thrive in is that you are free to choose how to spend that stipend as you wish. Xusom, for example, has steered students towards a particular online school for a MBA. Through a "partnership" with that school, because that school has been approved for FAFSA and the stipend is sufficient to pay for the majority/all of the tuition for XUSOM, you'll come out with 2 degrees (in theory) but in practice, you'll still have to figure out where the funds will come from to eat, sleep, and live.

Again, for the sake of a more thoroughly vetted training program that meets the standards of the U.S. Department of Education and have a higher likelihood of being matched- study and take your MCAT to see if you might qualify at a more mature medical school before starting this one in the months ahead. Consider this your "safety school."

I've been having the same issue. I have a co-signer in the states but I can't get a loan in the US. I am a Canadian citizen, but I have no Canadian co-signer.
    It's driving me insane.
