You have to set up 3rd and 4th year rotations yourself?

I'm hearing from students that 4th year elective rotations at Xavier have to be set up all by yourself by calling hospitals or clinics around and asking? Are you kidding, the school can't do this for you or is this just a rumor?

What about 3rd year core rotations at Xavier, do they set those up for you?

The clinical dean sets up your core rotations. He sets it up himself or "consults" another doctor in the ways reminescent of the 3rd party groups written about earlier in other posts about Atlanta (which is phased out by now or nearly done so, in the direction towards Chicago).

On a sad note, yet another clinical coordinator is no longer with the school as of this past week. Since there is only one at a time to tend to every student of the school, this suggests the institutional memory of best practices in executing that particular job rests only on the clinical dean's head. That makes 3 consecutive coordinators in one year. Hard to think that the relationships between any particular coordinator and a hospital or a particular doctor (in the case of electives) is passed on.

As for electives, I refer you to my earlier posts.
