    Big Problem.

    Advertisements

As of last week there has been a tuberculosis (TB) outbreak with one of the students, but the school has FAILED to inform the rest of the student body. The dean DOESN'T want to tell the student body b/c the school is already on thin ice with other issues such as filing for bankruptcy, losing their accreditation with many hospitals and several other issues such as getting sued for giving out personal information of students to third parties without their authorization. The New York office and the Aruba office are NEVER on the same page. They fire the good profs and keep the bad ones so that more people fail. The more people that fail, the more money the school gets b/c those people have to take the course over again and as a result they have to stay longer. This school is all about making money and that is it. The administration seems to favor certain students and not others. The ironic part is that those students that they favor should be drug tested b/c all they do is party, smoke pot, and use illegal study aids. These students know they could get away with it b/c they are on good terms with the administration such as Dr B.S. ,vice president of academic affairs, who is oblivious to all of this b/c he is in NY. Please open your eyes sir and fix this big problem so that you do not lose more students next semester b/c I plan to stay and don't want this school to close either like your sister school in Bonaire. Since other Caribbean schools are drug testing students, maybe you should drug test your "star" student along with other members of SGA b/c I saw them smoking pot at a party last weekend. From what I hear, atleast 20 students have transferred and more are planning to transfer out. If you are thinking about applying to this school, DON'T b/c there are better schools out there! You will waste your time and money with this school. From what other students have said on this forum is TRUE and I would not tell anyone to come this school even if it is free. The locals also hate the students from Xavier b/c of issues in the past. I wish that I never came to this school, but the only reason I am here is b/c my father is friends with the owner and I have no choice but to stay here. For all of you that are interested in coming here, PLEASE DON'T APPLY TO THIS SCHOOL.

    XAVIER.STUDENT 1

Let me point out a few things out for you:

    1) Every student that lands on the island with an inflight..has to get checked for TB and go thru various other medical tests such as chest X rays. So there goes your first point.

    2) There are professor's at xavier that attended Harvard. So you can figure the rest out.

I am not sure if you are a student that couldn't get that PASSING 70 or a prof that was fired.

    Thanks

Quite honestly, I've never taken much time out to respond to ridiculous posts such as these, because once you come to the island you don't spend too much time on valuemd., nor have the posts been crazy to this extent. However, after seeing this I think its CRUCIAL that nobody listens to the nonsense you just posted.

Before coming to Xavier I would check this forum all the time, and see all the good posts and the bad posts. I would freak out, but at the end of the day I took my chances and came here and really realized that every single person who takes their time out to post such things is BITTER. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion about the school, whether they're things like internet or administration but at the end of the day there is no need to post LIES. Regardless of whatever personal vendetta you have against the school, have some class and don't lie about whats going on here. A strong part of me doesn't even think you're a student here...since you have SO much to say about the school, I highly doubt you would be forced to stay here. This school is going to be a reflection on you,if you're advising other people not to come here, why are you staying for next semester if there are "other better and cheaper schools out there"? If all what you're saying is true, regardless of your connections, why would you want to be attached to a school with such a so-called poor reputation??... So please have the decency to stop posting this made up stuff and resolve your own personal issues...

And for all the new students, please read all the articles that the STUDENTS who attend this school presently have posted. They have legit knowledge of what is going on here and can help answer your questions.

Let me point out a few things out for you:

I have to go to this school b/c I have no choice and my parents are paying for it, so therefore I am stuck here.

    1) Every student that lands on the island with an inflight..has to get checked for TB and go thru various other medical tests such as chest X rays. So there goes your first point.
    - I agree, but this student had inactive TB at the point of arrival, but now it has become active. Yet the school has failed to tell the student body.

    2) There are professor's at xavier that attended Harvard. So you can figure the rest out.
-The prof. from Harvard was not allowed to teach the way he wanted b/c the administration told him to change up his whole method and do it the "Xavier" way.

I am not sure if you are a student that couldn't get that PASSING 70 or a prof that was fired.
-I score well in my classes b/c I have to stay here. Therefore, I have to study hard on my own. The school could def. have better profs.

It is very shocking that despite the fact that there are so many problems with Xavier you are still attending it. Yes ! your parents are paying for it, but don't they care about all the issues you stated above. Quiet dumb on your part as well... just cuz they are paying for it you wanna go to a "bad" school. Very shocking actually and silly. I think maybe you should get a job and save up for a " better and cheaper schools out there".

First of all Msethi18 I get a special discount for attending the school b/c the owner has been family friends for years and they are also business partners in something else, so it would be messed up if I left. I would have gone to Windsor b/c it is cheaper, but Aruba is a nicer island than other islands in the Caribbean. Secondly, the issue at hand is the fact that someone in school has active TB and no one is doing anything about it. I don't know about you Msethi18, but I care about my health. If you do a little research about TB, then you will understand the severity of this problem. For all you know you could have contracted TB while sitting behind your comp. screen replying to this post b/c it is airborn. Lastly, from my understanding the school is giving out personal information to 3rd parties without consent of the individual. Since you know so much about this school Msethi18, don't you remember that we all signed privacy documents stating that our parents can or cannot access our personal school info at the beginning of the semester when we first registered, so therefore it is a direct violation of your rights. Get your story right b/c for all you know your personal info could have been given to a 3rd party without your knowledge. Eitherway, what the school is doing is illegal, hence why they are getting sued. Think what you want Msethi18 and all of you that reply to this post, but this school needs to straighten up their act or else they will be shut down like other Caribbean med schools who have done similar things in the past.

everything you are saying sounds like a joke.

First of all Msethi18 I get a special discount for attending the school b/c the owner has been family friends for years and they are also business partners in something else, so it would be messed up if I left

so for another business deal you are ready to put your career at stake ? NICE !!!

I would have gone to Windsor b/c it is cheaper, but Aruba is a nicer island than other islands in the Caribbean.

HAHA just for the beaches you decided to pick this school ? VERY SMART

Secondly, the issue at hand is the fact that someone in school has active TB and no one is doing anything about it. I don't know about you Msethi18, but I care about my health.

Well.. did the student come tell you personally ? Since "the dean didn't inform the student body "? AND If your health is so important why stay back ? Cheaper? nice beaches ? business partners ?

    lol..wow
I just wanted to see how long it would take you to reply to this pointless thread. Honestly, if you were a student you would care about your health while attending this school. Secondly the whole school knows who this individual is, and since the dean told another student why this student will not be in school anymore it proves my point of how the staff doesn't mind telling others personal information about students. Aruba is a beautiful island and known for their beaches. Please don't tell me you didn't come here not knowing this information. Also compared to other islands, Aruba has more resources, such better supermarkets, hospital care, etc., than any of the other islands in the Caribbean. As for my tuition price, I get a discount and so do many other students at this school, but they don't say anything. Yes people do get discounts on top of scholarships, so thats why people end up staying. And the business partners thing is a personal thing, nothing for you to get involved in. It has nothing to do with you. I put in my time and effort to do well at this school. Honestly this post was in no way to offend you Msethi18, but rather to inform students that they could be at risk of TB and give them a heads up of what really is going on.

Anyone that reads this thread will see how repetitive you are. You keep saying the same thing over and over again without giving answers to the above questions.
