    does anyone observe the teachers?

    Advertisements

I remember one class in my first semester which was observed by a dean.

Has anyone ever seen their class observed?

How are teachers evaluated, if there is no observation or student feedback? (There was no feedback last semester.)

What do you suppose happens when control is not met with countercontrol? (Hint: this situation exists in prisons, private schools, and mental institutions.)

    hey fossil..hows it hanging???

come on man you know dean, there is no control on the teachers...most of them suck. Exceapt for maybe Patho teacher, who is amazing. But yeah no one controls its...Dean is the supreme ruler and thus the greatest teacher in the world. He is a good guy...but stick to one thing..either be the dean or be the anatomy teacher.

Think about it like this...you want good teachers...why would a good teacher come teach in Aruba, wouldnt he already be working in the states. Most teachers come...teach till they can get into the US. and again you got an admin that cares about money..not education. You get what you pay for...c r a p p y teachers

Now Imagine if you gave an amazing salary, you would get doctors who practice in the states to come in as visting proffessors or even full time to teach, and they would be amazing...there are a few schools that do that.

The few schools you mention with visiting professors who practice in the states or full time faculty are in older more well established schools who can afford to pay more and still profit. The admin won't admit it, but at the end of the day the school is still run like a profitable business.

I'm sure it's very typical for a new school such as Xavier to be plagued with lower par teachers. I mean look at the Aruba website, they don't list the teaching faculty so you don't even know the types of teaching credentials you may be dealing with.

Believe me....they can pay for better teachers. BTW aruba is having some issues with thier teachers. Usually you can tell lot about the campus admin by looking at how happy the faculty is. Again maybe they cant pay for AMAZING visiting teachers...but they can pay for VERY GOOD teachers, instead paying for thier new mercedes....or whatnot
