How long will the school allow you to study for Step 1?

I am wondering if someone finished the basic sciences 2 years ago, how long will the school allow them to write step 1? Is there a time limit at all? any exceptions?

Are you a current student at Windsor or a transfer? The rules vary by those to criteria and then vary further depending on your progress as show with a current NBME score. The lower your score, the more likely you are to be dismissed. If you are close to passing, they may extend up to 6 months and force you to take it by then or be dismissed.

I believe don1 is a surgery fellow in Canada that went to MUA. I think he's probably asking for someone.

    correct. I'm a canadian resident.

asking about someone who has transferred in 2 years ago. I know MUA is starting to enforce 4 months then being dismissed. I was wondering about windsor policy; for someone else.

alright. it is roughly what i explained above. a student that finished their fifth semester this december would have until june to take it and pass. if they need extra time, they will have to file an appeal for an extension and usually the school will ask for some measure of progress. usually an nbme score that is contrasted with your exit exam score from md5, which is taken at the prometric center and required to pass basic sciences.

if you are out for an extended amount of time, like two years, the school has made efforts to contact those students for progress updates and are sending out dismissal letters accordingly. most students have given up after two years and so likely they have dismissed themselves.

if you know someone that is still interested in medicine after two years, i would recommend you tell them to contact the monee office for the school and try and work something out before the only contract they have with the school is a letter of dismissal.

if you read another post that appeared this past summer, some students were scammed by dr natasha and dr sandeep, both of them being in the monee/frankfort office, for a review program for $3500 that was not authorized by the school. advise whomever you're asking for that they should not agree to this review program as it is a scam independent of windsor. the school is not affiliated. they have since returned the money they had cheated students out of, but there is a chance that there is a new one brewing. If they are asking for money of any kind that, it is a scam and should be reported to dr. venkatesh or sunderesh on the island. your friend will know who they are and they already dissolved the last fraud attempt but there's nothing that's stopping it from sprouting again.
