Has anyone successfully appealed the ECFMG regarding expired transfer credits?

The ECFMG has a rule that transfer credits which are older than 7 years by the date of graduation are expired, but they state that students can request an exception to this rule. Has anyone been in this situation and/or been granted the exception?

I feel like it's a low probability to get that exception. And even more improbable is finding a school that will take them. I don't know of any instance where a student has transferred credits more than a few years old. Have you looked into that?

there was a student not too long ago that actually went through Windsor twice because he had failed the step numerous times after his first time through basic science. he came to windsor years later and repeated basic science again. i still dont think he passed. but he was supposedly at windsor in about 2006 and again in 2011. he finished in 2013 April or something along those lines. it's nearly ten years since he started yet his credits were still valid. granted they were not transfer credits, but ecfmg has a limit on how long after starting medical school your credits are valid. and i think that number is 8.

so that guy may have been the exception to that rule. if you want his name, i can give it to you and i may have contact info as well. but i have not personally talked to him about this so i am not sure if he's willing to share.

    worth a try thou.
