    Step 1 sponsorship time

    Advertisements

Hello I had a question about the time it takes in order to be sponsored by Windsor for Step 1. It says on their form 3 weeks once they receive your application. Does anyone know if that includes the time it take ecfmg to process your step 1 request or if that is a separate 3 weeks. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

It takes two weeks after the Monee office receives your paperwork. During those two weeks they verify transcripts and all that jazz. After that, they send it to ECFMG which takes about a week. After that, you should get approval within two to three weeks.

For example, if you sent the paperwork in today and it was in Monee by this Friday or next Monday, you would actually be waiting for two months because I believe ECFMG shuts down the first two weeks of January. During this time, they do not administer any of the Steps and they open up around January 13th or so. I don't know the exact date, but if the paperwork isn't processed by ECFMG before Christmas, it won't be seen until mid-January and won't approved until Valentine's Day.

    Ouch.

not true man i just recieved an email from them stating

Please be advised that Prometric, not ECFMG®, closes for the first two weeks of January in order to update its computer systems. Thus, ECFMG will operate under normal business hours during that period of time.

I stand corrected. I thought it was the ECFMG.

So then submitting it now should see you with a permit by the end of February, ready to register for a date instantly.

I do expect the Holidays to slow it down a bit, though.

i am assuming you are a transfer student because most old windsor students have until december 31 to take it, i believe. they're doing a massive cleanup on their backlog of students

Yeah I am a recent transfer student. Hey do you have any idea what windsor usually does during the 3 weeks it takes them to process the step 1 application?

they get transcripts sent to them from the island and verify them. you probably should send them your old school's transcripts or make sure they have them lready.

I got a notification saying you made a post on here, but I don't see it now so maybe you deleted it. But I told you it would take until February (VDay) to get your paperwork done and it appears as if I was right.

I can't tell you if the school sent the right paperwork in. You should call ECFMG and ask what is missing and why the status on OASIS is what it is.

This process takes two months from when Windsor sends it in.
