    rotation sites

    Advertisements

    Hi,

I am an IMG (non-caribbean) and now looking for externships in San Antonio area, Texas.

I am looking for outpatient clinics/doctors (internal medicine and family medicine) where Caribbean students rotate so I can contact the office and inquire about externship opportunities.
The more hands-on experience I get the better it is, so busier establishments are my priority, though less busier may also work as LORs count either way.

I am not from Texas and will be coming there just for this purpose. For various reasons, I can only be at San Antonio area.
Will appreciate if anyone can share any contacts (or pm me, whatever you prefer).

    Thanks,

This really isn't the place to ask for that. You're spreading your desperation too thin.

So here is the situation freshman...

All venues need to be explored. Rotation with good doctors in an area of choice is a hot commodity.

Good luck with "exploring all venues" when you state "I can only be in San Antonio area."

Sorry, not familiar with the San Antonio area, or that general region of the US for that matter. Your best bet is to call around to different hospitals and programs to see if they're accepting students to rotate there. Most places will say no we don't accept international/foreign students, but you could get lucky and find a program that says yes we will! Good luck.

What you are asking for is basically a shadowing opportunity as an IMG.

It's something a doctor with good social skills can arrange on his own.

This is most likely an Indian IMG with extended family in Texas looking for spots. I know Indians non-US residents that had to travel as far as LA and NJ for opportunities. This guy is going to struggle with no affiliation in SA.
