    Positive things about Windsor

    Advertisements

Hello everybody! I wanted to get some positive feedback about the good things about the school. I think I was about to choke off of negativity

It has a very fancy-British-sounding name. Also, you could attend your Windsor graduation wearing a Windsor knot in your necktie. I am unaware of any other Carib schools who can make a similar claim.

(Note to Self: Seek investors for the opening of "Four-In-Hand School of Medicine," "Prince Albert School of Medicine," and "Pratt School of Medicine.")

At the end of the day, it produces doctors. It gives you the ability to write your steps and do clinics and eventually come out as an MD. There are speed bumps along the way. It's definitely not easy. And you have to deal with a lot of bullshihihit. But for some, this is their last and only option, and it's certainly a viable one. In my travels for my rotations, I've gotten the chance to meet students from other Carib schools. The vast majority of them have similar complaints as we do (the inefficiency of the school, lack of organization, crap rotations, nickel and dime fees, etc). Windsor has a bad name because its admission standards are WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY lower than other schools. Because of that, the students are more likely to be sub-par, more likely to fail classes, and exponentially more likely to complain that the school is unfair and bogus.

So bite the bullet, study hard, and wear your big girl panties and you'll end up an MD with a residency.

Thanks for your reply! I was wondering if there is a list of the choices for clinical rotations for Windsor students. If it is already posted, please provide a link if possible.

    Much appreciated

You are thinking too far ahead. The school has rotations, don't worry. Get to that point first before worrying yourself with it.

clinical rotation sites change so frequently that by the time you get to that point, everything will be completely different

It's not so bad. Much better imo to be on this island than some of the other ones (especially the ones with a population below 5k). Not having a summer makes it a bit tougher but at least you get to move off the island quicker. Some of the courses seem like they're easier than at other schools too, I dunno.
