    Total expenses

    Advertisements

According to your experiences, is it realistic to attend to this school with a total budget of +- 12k/year (2 semesters)?

Does their financial plan (wich is supposed to cover ALL) Windsor University School of Medicine - About the Country is reliable and realistic?

    Thanks.

Fees that I can think of

    It does not include the

    Fixed costs :

    Project 2400 fee....80$ (Per-semester)
Dorm Maintenance Charge 500$ (per Semester)
Island Student Visa Charge $100 (One Time)

    Variable Costs :

Food that you will eat at home/out....$250 (Thats what I spend)
    Internet $ 50 (Per Month)
Transportation 75$ (Per Month) (Buses to and from school are free but on their schedule)
Electricity from $60 -120$ per month depending on you and your roommates usage.
Diet Coke Fund (20$ per month)

the dorm maintenance price went up...but has any maintenance been done...ever??

the "registration" fee that was not mentioned is $50US at the beginning of each semester

also, you play a Hurricane Relief Fund of $200USD once while on the island..some people didnt pay and thought they would get away with it, but it was tacked onto their invoice along with interest for not paying on time.

It is the Hurricane Evacuation Insurance....all med schools in the Caribbean require students to pay this.

And if they missed a fee you can be sure that they will add it to your next semesters invoice.

...I meant including the tuition fee, and according the link I gave.

3 semesters/year is only an option, and not mandatory. I can do 2 semesters/year, come back in canada for working the other 4 months, etc.

it is not a realistic possibility to manage with 12 K. If you are being really stingy your expenses would be like 200 US a month approximately.(Grocery is expensive here)
average expenditure if you are living on a budget for a month:
    Grocery -- 100 US
Electricity 50-75 US if you dont use air conditioner
Internet : 25 US if your sharing it with someone else

Every semester you have to pay
    1. Tution fee ---- 4990 US
    2. Dorm Maintanence ----500 US
    3.Project 2400 ----------- 80 US
    4.Registration Fee --------- 50 US...
