i appreciate and understand you are trying to help but im still not sure how the generalization about ALL states requiring 60-90 credits of undergrad was derived. And I did not contact only 3-4 states. I am not exaggerating when I say that I have contacted and gotten responces from at least 20 states. I have at least 15 emails I would gladly post to show the responces I got. And yes, i agree doing undergrad is not a bad idea because it most certainly gives you background but i apologize for i think you may have exagerated the limitations students would face if they do not do undergrad.
PS: I am not a high school student, I am actually in university now however this posts concerns me because I was considering attending med before completing the 60-90 credits.

    Hello,

I have read all the requirements listed on the State Medical Board of Iowa website regarding the requirements for medical licensure in the state of Iowa.

    minnesota

The reply i got from Minnesota simply stated the basic requirements, undergrad work not being one of them.

    Hello,

In order to be licensed by the state of Minnesota as an International graduate, you must have graduated from a school that is listed in the world directory, passed the exams within the required attempts and have 2 years of accredited medical training. You can find the information on our website at

    Thank You,

    Oregon

Per OAR 847-020-0130 Ė an applicant must have graduated from a foreign school of medicine that is chartered in the country in which the school is located, after attendance of at least four full terms of instruction of eight months each, with all courses having been completed by physical on-site attendance in the country in which the school is chartered.

In addition, a Foreign Medical Graduate must have satisfactorily completed an approved internship and/or residency (or clinical fellowship) in the United States or Canada of not less than three years of progressive training in not more than two specialties in not more than two training programs accredited for internship, residency or fellowship training by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the College of Family Physicians of Canada or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the American Osteopathic Association.

If you have met these initial set of requirements, then you are eligible to apply for Unlimited Licensure in the State of Oregon.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact the CallCenter at 971-673-2700.

    Sincerely,
