    transferring to windsor? advice please

hi everyone; i am a current student at SMU and i will be starting rotations soon. i heard that the most important factor is if a school is ECFMG certified. I also read in forums that SMU being "NY & FL approved" just means we can do unlimited clinical rotations in these states. Windsor not being "NY & FL approved" means all your rotations will be in chicago or virginia. I am very broke and cannot afford SMU tutiion any longer. My question is this are there any other stipulations involved in transferring to windsor does it affect residency; Are there people who have successfully transferred and had nothing to worry about?

    1. i goto windsor therefore trust me, theres OTHER schools that are cheaper than SMU but a little more expensive than windsor (maybe 1500 more) that are at least 50 times better, more organized, MUCH MUCH more professional and deffinately worth your time. I would say contact IAU, St. Eustatias, All Saints Aruba and Spartan. At least Spartan and IAU are NY approved and St. Eustatias Ive heard has AMAZING rotation spots and so does All Saints Aruba and they al fall maybe $1000 more than windsor but TRUST me its worth it, with all these "extra and hidden" fees, windsor is going to end up the same. I learnt my mistake with transferring here and now I just have to stick it out. PM me and il elaborate if your interested.

That is true I was going to go to a different school and came here to save money, but you dont save anything, the hidden fee's are crazy they nickel and dime you for everything. What their web site says is a LIE. nothing is free or included trust me they make there money back. Not to mention they need some major organization, and they are very slow at getting anything done. Find somewhere else and stay clear of here you will be a lot happier if you do.

Alot of people bad mouth the school for various reasons: a) bad experiences with grades, administration, financial, b) ignorance, c) stupidity, d) narcissism, e) just because they can and have nothing else better to do.

At the end of the day, bad mouthing only hurts. They clearly have not realized this or they would have stopped. Its that simple. They dont know how to accept responsibilities for their decisions/actions or make an effort to change what needs to be changed - either in themselves or with the school.

In the long run, it makes no difference. People can vent because they are mad, angry, or frustrated. If they are not learning, the venting just proves them to be stupid. Simple.

Given that, there are alot of things with the school that NEED to be improved on. Administration should realize that. Often it seems that they also dont care. What is the solution? Who knows.

i wouldn't call it "bad mouthing".. telling real experiences and the TRUTH helps future students decide on where to go..
having said that, a friend of mine transferred to Windsor and now regrets it.
