    My Experience

Got Step 3 result today and passed (229/95). Prepared for approx. 2 months during a Pathology residency, so minimal clinical exposure. Did Kaplan Q Book, Kaplan Q Bank and USMLEWORLD Q Bank. Averaged 60% on Kaplan and 50% on USMLEWORLD. Also one read of Kaplan Step 3 Lecture Notes and 2nd ed. of Brochert's Crush Step 3, and Karsten's CCS CD. Did not have time for USMLEWORLD CCS. Please approach the exam with reverence and awe, as it deserves such. Golden Rule (frequently broken): Do not dwell on questions too long because you may not be able to finish the block and miss questions you can answer. The questions in Kaplan and USMLEWORLD that make you think "They can't ask that?" are actually asked. I was able to finish all blocks and all my CCS cases got better. ALL CCS cases were from general medical practice and ER. A good measure of CCS performance is if the end of block appears before 20 min. If you are well prepared for MCQs, you are already well prepared for CCS. I chose the Sat/Mon option and would strongly recommend it.
