Ok, so my exam experience... was that it was incredibly too long! OMG! Day 1 was all multiple choice and they were tough. Certainly harder then the questions on Usmleworld.com. The computer software is the same on Usmleworld as on the real exam and that part was good. I am not going to go into the questions, but they were of equal complexitiy as those on step 1 and 2. Also the questions were longer then those of USMLE step 1 and 2, and longer then the ones on USMLEworld. Most questions were a full page and some had to have the multiple choice questions in 2 columns so that they would fit! LOL. The pictures were good, but the CT scans not so much.

On day 2, the questions are slightly shorter and maybe easier to an extent. The good part was that the CCS software is again the same as that of USMLEworld, so I finished each CCS case in approx 5-7 minutes. I was done by 1:00pm. If you are prepared and have spent enough time in the ER/Wards, then you are ready for the CCS. As for the multiple choice questions, not sure where they come from or what purpose they served other then to give you a headache from the eye strain.

Anyways, wish me luck cause for the next 3-6 weeks I'll be stressed out about it.

    I passed!

Alrighty... even though I was worried about my result, I did end up passing Step 3. I scored 212/88. So, my tip is to do First Aid USMLE step 3 as a general refresher, figure out some algorithms for Endocrine stuff in your brain like hypo/hyperthyroidism, hyper/hypoaldosteronism etc, and do at least 1 year of residency (I had almost finished my 2nd year of FP when I wrote it). Then I did USMLEworld.com which uses the same computer software as the real USMLE for both the multiple choice and the CCS. I did approx 800 questions and read all answers. I scored 55-60%. Then, I did all the CCS cases on USMLEworld and the USMLE CD. Hope this helps someone.

just finished step 3 today. first day was easy...short and easy questions. second day was harder...longer questions and 4 out of 9 cases were challenging, but overall easier than step 2. i recommend taking it before they change the format in march, which will be a lot harder. tired, going to take a nap. good luck.
