Just about to lose all motivation...

    Advertisements

I am not a stupid guy and I have never failed any exam like I did step2ck. I feel like my reading goes too slow and even people who helped me out here are ssick of telling me to hurry with my review. When I read Kaplan notes it takes me forver to read just 40 pages. Not to mention I hav seen those notes so many times except surgery and PSych which I have left to review. Also If I delay my exam I will be late for the upcoming ERAS.

I guess I just need some encouragement to keep going because something like this has never happned with me before.

It's called ADD. I have a very difficult time reading stuff that I'm not particularly interested in. Always have and always will. Ob/gyn, psych, and "interesting" parts of IM were easy for me to read but forget about it when it came to surgery, pediatrics, cardiology, developmental milestones, etc..

My answer was to use a condensed source as a review of the topic (Boards and Wards) but to spend most of my time on a question bank which is just as useful as a learning source. You'll get lower scores in the beginning since you're using it as a primary learning source, but they will go up with time. The only thing that worked for me was to make a goal of doing a certain number of questions each day with proper review. If I finished them early then I could relax and unwind. If I goofed off too much in the morning, then I would be forced to stay up late finishing the questions. Either way, the questions got done and that's going to be the most important and influencing factor in allowing you to safely pass the exam. That's my 2 cents for what it's worth.

Also, don't stay cooped up in one place all day. I would get out and run, spend some time with the girlfriend or friends, eat healthy and got plenty of rest.

    Hey SGU,

I don't know what you need an explanation about. But let me explain my comment I guess one liners can be confusing
I think this is sad= yep it's sad when people lie about their scores
Focus on yourself not others = don't worry about the people who lie or don't, from experience when you let your mind wander you're not taking it all in. You are in control of your mind.

Good luck, hope u kick exam ***...

    Hey Arie...

One liners ARE confusing especially because there's no intonation or facial expression to see here. But thanks for the clarification anyway.

    You done with Step2ck?
