    # of systems examined on PE?

    Advertisements

    For those who passed,

how many systems did you exam on the PE?

example, if a pt has sore throat, you'd do HEENT, resp, cardio.
    right?

in general, for each case, do you do a full PE of all systems? and then only write the pertinent positives?

    did cardiovascular/pulmonary/abdomen for all pts.

if c/c indicated other systems, started with those first, much more in depth than the cursory exams. (remember, you don't have time to do a real PE, you just have to thoroughly go through the motions.)

i recorded everything, pos or neg, sometimes ran out of room on the computer screen and had to edit it down a bit and remove less relevant findings.

if you can't type fast reliably, either learn or stick to the paper version. the disadvantage is that you need to have decent handwriting

also, i recommend learning how to do a HEENT and a neuro at lightning speed, because otherwise you'll waste a lot of valuable time.
