As the USMLE website states, the score has no real interpretation other than they arbitrarily set the scores so that a two digit score of 75 (I believe) is passing. Other than that, it has no meaning. In particular, the two digit score is NOT your percentile or the percentage of questions you got right. You are safely above passing and most cut off points (80) so you can forget the 2 digit score.

On the other hand, the three digit score has some meaning because you are given the mean and standard deviation. As I recall, the mean for US students is 216 and the sd is 16. Thus, you are likely to beat the average of US students -- and do signficantly better than most of your carib competitors.
actually, the 2 digit score is MORE important than the three digit score.

    why, you might ask?

well, most residency programs that have a cutoff for usmle scores almost ALWAYS use the 2 digit score. some ask for 80 and above, some for 85 and above, some for 90 and above, etc.
