    Oasis trick

I have heard that this is not working anymore and people are re-applying and paying only to find out they passed.

It used to be: You must check and see the score report and see if your score has been reported. If it has been reported and you try to re-register and you are allowed to register - chances are you failed. If you try to re-register and it says you have passed this step and cannot re-register then you passed - it does this is all red letters.

But as I stated earlier, some people are reporting they fixed this way of finding out and will let everyone re-register only to get money that is hard to get refunded.

Hope this helps and not too confusing.

Bottom line: you must have an updated score report for the USMLE test in question before you can try this trick.

P.S. It takes at least 3 weeks from the day you took the test to the day it will be reported online. Wed. are the update days. If you took it on a Wed then it can be 3 weeks from the day you took it. If you took it on a Thursday, then it can be 3 weeks plus 6 days.

Wednesday nights or actually early Thursday morning (after 1:00 a.m. to ?) is when the system updates and hits.

my score isn't yet reported for Step 1, but I wanted to see what it does prior to being reported, so I tried to start the application for Step 1. When I clicked the dot for Step 1, this is what I saw in red:

Our records indicate that you are already registered for this Step or Step Component. You may not apply for a Step or Step Component if you are already registered for that Step or Step Component. If you fail or do not complete a Step or Step Component, you may submit another application for this exam, but certain time limits apply when retaking a Step or Step Component. For complete information, refer to Reexamination and Reapplication in the ECFMG Information Booklet and Retakes in the USMLE Bulletin of Information.

It would not, however, let me proceed further. Hope this helps. Good luck!

    ...

I took the exam on march 2nd ( step 2 ck ), and when I tried the trick today (March 22nd...2 weeks and 6 days later) it told me "our records indicate you have already passed this portion of the USMLE. You may not reregister for an exam you have already passed etc." Pretty excited about that. My score report date was March 21st. As others have said, if you do not have a score report date then it will allow you to reregister...however if its giving you a score report date and it allows you to reregister then.....that sucks. Good luck!
