q129 During treatment of DKA, do you add glucose to the IV fluids? When? And can you stop insulin when serum glucose returns to normal?

When glucose reaches 250-300 from say 800-900 after treatment (FIK= Fluids, Insulin, K+), add 5% glucose to IVFs to reduce hypoglycemia risk. Insulin is required in DKA even after blood glucose returns to normal range. Continue to give insulin and glucose containing IVFs. Then give admission to ICU (do not send home).
