taking step 1 for 3rd time, need advice

Hello, this forum had helped me in the past. Please give me good advice in what way to successfully pass this exam on my 3rd attempt. I have read kaplan book three time Q bank all 2100 questions, self study for last 9 months off and on, had a stressful 5th semester in the middle of the 1st attempt. used the Pass program for the 2nd attempt the dvd and lecture notes and found them very useful even in the exam I believed I had finally and and felt great about how the exam went, and then bam I failed with a 166/68 lower than my first exam of 171/70. I was numb for a day, and lost on how to proceed and to figure out what I doing wrong. Have always been a good test taking in the past until I met the big step 1. any suggestions will be helpful Thanks in advance.

2 of my friends did not do so well on step 1. one failed 3 times the other 4. They are both in residency now. of course they rocked step 2 and step 3. Don't ever give up.

I just passed on my 2nd attempt. This is a tough test, but just remember it does not define who you are.

What kind of program are they in? What specialty?

I know classmates from not well known Caribbean schools who got residencies w/o passing the step 1 on the first time. One person prematched. I am not sure if there were community programs or not. It is possible.

Guaranteed community programs. No way a university program takes a IMG with failures.
