Hy 2287 Know what and what not to give to a pregnant woman.

    Hy 2287

    q) You now see a pregnant young lady. Age 30. Her one child is in nursery school with sick contacts, and winter is coming. She asks you for a vaccine that is appropriate. Which is indictated? Or both? Or neither??

    1) MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccine
    2) Influenza vaccine
    3) Both
    4) Neither
    5) Varicella (for Chickenpox) vaccine

    a) ans is 2. The MMR vaccines and Varicella vaccines are live attenuated vaccines. Their use during pregnancy is contraindicated. Do NOT forget that. You can give influenza vaccine.
