what was ur step 1 score?

I just like to see things in graphs rather than reading each and everyone's post. I think it will be easier this way and people will post anonymously (might be more accurate). Pls don't get offended, but

I request anyone who takes the poll to declare their accurate score because you are posting anonymously and this will give future USMLE STEP 1 takers some encouragement.

Most of the people who post on this forum always report really high score and this kind of scare future takers as if they will be able to compete with all these high score. So i request you to please post your AUTHENTIC score. No one will know and you'll help out other people.

If you hve your grades please vote here.
Do not worry no one will know your score is confidential besides it gives everyone a reality snap shot of the grades.
Not like in other places that you see that everyone score more than 250, I mean everyone gets at least that and for sure a 99.
    Please be honest.

Please post your grades here. Is confidential
At the moment more or less
    30% above 230
    38% Pass between 185 and 214
    14% Failed
    18% Pass between 215 nd 229

This is a good thing you notice not EVERYONE score 99 or more than 250

Bad first 2 years, decent step 1 score

    210/87

Not an amazing score, but considering the following I am thrilled and definitely feel "vindicated" after a very rough basic sciences. I am telling the ugly details of my grades because I think it is important, in a semi-anonymous forum, because there are a lot of people that post these great grades for basic sciences and those kind of stories made me feel that there was no way I could actually get through the step with my grades. But i did.

Exam was taken dec 30 and was my first attempt.

I went to SGU and feel I was adequately prepared for all sections. I also took off a semester and studied on my own. I probably averaged about 5 to 8 hours per day, and i didn't study every day of the week. For me, studying over a longer period with less intense study sessions made stuff stick in my head way better than 6 weeks of 12-16 hour days. To put things in perspective for those who have struggled, I failed path once, had stupid failing grades for 1 and 2 credit classes (immuno and genetics), and have been on academic probation. I finished basic science with a 2.1 gpa.

Yeah, not an impressive first 2 years.

The first thing I did was a UW assesment exam, and it was not good. After about 6 weeks I did NBME 1 and it was passing by a point or 2, like 187/75 or something. I never did any assesments after that except for the free CD questions and that showed me getting a 238/99 about 3 weeks before the test. That score made me smile, but I was convinced it was over-inflated. At least I saw something positive though which is great for the confidence.

But guess what--I actually ended up doing pretty decent on step 1. It can be done with a moderate amount of effort, a solid belief that you are here "on a mission from God," and have supportive friends and family! I didn't take Kaplan or any review course (except for OPtima and they did NOTHING for me, actually just caused me to put-off my exam). I did usmleworld entirely in tutor mode and did Kaplan webprep. UW was very helpful for getting stuff organized into categories and I used it to learn, not evaluate.

It is important for me to point out that I have never been the kind of guy was was gunning for a 99, or the, um, psychos that say less than 260 is failing !!!

I just went nuts with emoticons.

Keep at it, pray for strength and focus, and put supportive people in your life! You can do it

    Andrew

PS As a note: the most beneficial thing I could've done was to stick to my first instinct when it came to answering a question. When I got my performance band on my step 1 score only one section extended into the scary region, and that was biochem. Even still it was a wide band. Everything else was good, and this is because I didn't play games with the questions or overthink the answers.
