    Advertisements

Hey guys, Recently accepted for Fall 2013 EBS MD class. Is anyone else applying my term either EBS or regular MD? If you're applying, we can talk tips, and if you're in, we can talk about the program. Thanks!

I have my interview with Ross tomorrow and don't my suggestion is UMHS is way better than MUA. I got in to CMU, but turned them down after I got in to UMHS. I am also waiting for a few American schools that I have a shot at getting in to.

I've been debating MUA vs UMHS, but MUA has NY state approval, and UMHS is supposed to be applying for it soon too? idk! I considered CMU, but after UMHS, I turned them down too. I'm waiting for some US schools too

I plan on applying for the EBS Fall 2013! I don't mind being on the island for another semester. I'm from Michigan I hate snow wind rain and clouds. I could do island life 24/7 and before anyone tries to tell me otherwise, I'd like to add that I lived in Africa for a short while. I would love to do a rotation in Miami, does anyone have any information if that is possible?

you might be able to do elective rotation in miami, but i don't think UMHS has partnerships with hospitals there. UMHS, because it is new, does not have as many affilitations as the schools that have been established much longer

Unfortunately because UMHS does not yet have Florida approval, our students can't do any clinical rotations there. Without Florida approval, students can't do clinical rotations, but they can still get residency and licensure. We're planning to apply for FL approval in late 2013.
Built in the tradition of the best US universities, the Hidden Content focuses on individual student attention, maintaining small class sizes and recruiting high-quality faculty. We call this unique approach, “personalized medical education,” and it’s what has led to our unprecedented 96% student retention rate, and outstanding Hidden Content across the US and Canada. UMHS is challenging everything you thought you knew about Caribbean medical schools.

@UMHS Official - I thought if you were not approved in a state, that you were unable to do more than a certain number of weeks of rotation in that state, and cannot apply for residency either? I am thinking of the NY approval. Since UMHS does not have NY approval, we can only do up to 12 weeks of rotation, but cannot apply for residency in that state. Is FL different on their guidelines?
