How are students paying for school???

    Advertisements

    Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to know how students are covering the cost of tuition and the cost of living? It just seem like the institutional loans and davenport mba arent enough to cover things. Im just asking because I will not be able to rely on my parents or family to pay for school. thanks.

varies ~5,000 (institutional), (6,000-8,000) Davenport changed policy making it harder to us to obtain the money

You gotta rely on your parents at some point. Better start now.

The institutional loan is from 1,000 to 5,000 and like George said, DU money is round 6000-8000. YOU WILL need to get a private loan on your own, help from family members and friends or something because you don't want to have distractions on how to pay school tuition and living expenses while in school. Below is an email from UMHS Financial Aid Office for May Semester 2011:

The UMHS loan application is attached to this email and posted in the Student Affairs folder on the M-drive. The submission deadline for all applications is April 9, 2011!

    May 2011 Institutional Loan Program

The UMHS Institutional Loan Program allows for loans from $1,000 to $5,000 to be applied toward May 2011 tuition charges. The terms and conditions are summarized below.

    8% fixed interest rate

Interest only payments while in school and during the six month grace period

Remaining balance due six months after program completion.

UMHS Office of the Bursar will develop individualized payment plans for those that can’t otherwise refinance the principal after the six month grace period.

Application Process Please read carefully because the process is slightly different than it was last semester.

    1. Contact the Bursar's office to discuss your May 2011 billing statement. This is an important first step because Bursar can suggest payment options that are not available through financial aid.

    1. This program requires the borrowers to apply, get approval and sign new legal documents each semester. You, your cosigner, and parents should complete the application package as soon as possible. The student borrower and cosigner must complete the application form. As an additional and NEW requirement, the student and their parents (not necessarily the cosigner) must complete the Supplemental Data Sheet (SDS).

    1. Return all required forms to the Office of Financial Aid via scan/email ([email protected]‐sk.net) or fax at 212‐947‐8592. The submission deadline for all applications is APRIL 9th. Due to funding limitations, applications and supporting documents will not be accepted after the application deadline date.

    1. We expect all credit decisions to be made by April 15th. Once a credit decision is made, you will receive an Award Letter along with your Official Promissory Note and Disclosure Forms via email. You must return the original signed forms to the Financial Aid Office within 30 days, so that your student account can be properly credited. We strongly recommend sending us the documents by traceable mail such a U.S. Certified mail, Express Mail, FEDEX, UPS or DHL. (Original hard copy documents containing all wet signatures must be received by the Office of Financial Aid before approved loan amount can be credited to your student billing account).

    Good luck
