    Title IV loans

    Advertisements

I just wanted to know if UMHS had an idea of how long it will take them to begin the application process for Title IV loans since the 1st class will be graduating soon. I did do a search of this topic so i apologize if it has already been answered.

AUA had a graduating class awhile back but they only have Bank of Lake Mill Loans and it usually covers the entire semester (correction?); however it does have requirements such as a 3.0 gpa.

DEFINITELY don't count on that for a Long Time. The process takes at least a couple of years from what I've heard.

I thought there will be no more title IV loans for ANY carib schools...didn't DOE pass some sort of resolution on that and only grandfathered in Ross, SGU, and AUC b/c they were the oldest and receiving them.

The lack of Title IV loans to Caribbean schools other than those grandfathered in is nothing new. I don't remember exactly when Dr. R managed to get a law passed that allowed for Ross, SGU and AUC but it was over 15 years ago. Unless another law is introduced in Congress that would allow UMHS a special waiver, the University will not have Title IV eligibility for the foreseeable future.

Thank you for being honest. When I orginially applied to UMHS i was constantly told that the school was working on getting title Iv and that the 1st step was having a graduating class. I have come to realize how important it is to get the actual facts/laws. thanks again
