I am sure there are some from NYC. UAG is connected to NYMC and has always had 5th years in NYC. The class is half Puerto Rican and half Continental US, and a little mix from elsewhere. A lot of the class from Continental US are from Texas.
Hello this is my first post, I've been snooping around here for weeks trying to gather some info on UAG. I'm getting ready to start the application process for Fall 09 and I wanted to know if there was anyone else from NYC.

My friend and I are thinking about driving to Guad... if we get accepted, that is.
Absolutjag9, thanks for the PM, but I'm not allowed to respond since this is only my third post... I need to have five. I will be around those dates and would love to hook up if you have time. My very close friend will also be applying and we have TONS of questions. And it would also be really nice to meet someone who has also chosen to go down this crazy road!!
Which crazy road? The road to be coming a doctor or the road to Guadalajara? Both are crazy.

Hey, I'm from the NYC area. I sent you a pm.
Going for interview maybe sometime in January or early February. Will interview either in Albany or San Antonio depending on who the interviewers are at each site and my professor's recommendations. I'd be careful with diving down. My dad who's a businessman said that crime in Mexico has been horrendous since the 80's. Many Chinese businessmen who had gone down to Mexico to collect money or make transactions have disappeared. Like many on the forum stated, driving at night in Mexico is a big no-no. I think the only way I'll travel between Guad and US is by plane. I'm applying for the Fall 2009 entry. Does anyone know what the regulations are for bringing kevlar vests on planes?? And what are the law on concealed weapons/kevlar vests in Mexico (except for firearms which are illegal for normal ppl)?
I have driven a Mercedez Benz with California plates back and forth 3 times from the LA to Guadalajara and nothing horrible has happened to me or ANY of my friends that usually do the driving as well using their cars. These are all legends of the old west with John Wayne and clint eastwod as the main characters.
