Loans, Student Fees, and Hold backs

Loans, Student Fees, and Hold backs

The inscription fee is a one-time payment that is not credited towards tuition..... $1500 during ones interview process.

    Please make corrections
    1. Tuition is now $ 22,000 per year.
    2. Mandatory registration fee $ 300.00 USD every semester after the first semister
    3. NASA fee (Not for internado) $ 180.00 USD per year.
    4. Loan processing fees of 2% (???) on loans for living expences sent to UAG from the lending institution, taken out before you receive your check.
This does not include all of the fees/charges that one has to pay during orientation.

It is always good to understand the true cost per year, not counting housing, food, distractions , parties and whatever.

    Sticker shock.

The average indebtedness of Medical students is somewhere around $100,000 to $135,000 with a high of $250,000

Sad fact of the matter. If they ever go to socialized medicine they will have to absorb all these loans in order to cut our income.

that is because the profession of medicine is a very high profit business. if u start social medicine, then it just means cuts are going to happen all through the different sectors of medicine. No more charging 300 dollars a night for some crappy bed. if that occurs, then mds will not become this hot post-grad school that almost every body is trying to fight for. If u look at countries where doctors make about much as vendors who sell oranges in the streets, u will notice that their medical schools have trouble filling up their seats every year. the med schools in us are so cocky and picky about their pool of applicants (mcat, letters of recommendation, volunteering, volunteering, be a free paying slave and what ever else they want) simply because doctors tend to have an above average income (100,000 and above). In comparison, countries that allow kids (right after 18 or even 16) to go to med school tend to be countries where doctors make less than an average factory worker. basically socialized medicine in us will probably never happen because the government will then become the dominant player in the medical business and it will probably force cuts all through the different sectors of the medical field.

Very true, some believe that the medical profession can yield excellent wages over the long haul. It all depends on what you choose to do, in many latino communities wages are low and most everyone goes to free or low income clinics. Many doctors that i talked to spent time on indian reservations and low income / rural locations to pay off their loans. Not all of them are making that much and enjoy what they do.

    Back to the now.

Besides the items that I listed, what fee/charges are to come as one continues on through the years/semesters at UAG. Are their items in the fine print that may of us do not pay attention to or read ?
