UAG Interview: Questions I Was Asked

    Advertisements

Just met someone who interviewed for next semester.

Why do you want to be a doctor?
What will you if you aren't accepted to medical school?
    Where else are you applying?
Take us through your personal statement
What have you read or experienced in order to prepare you for medicine?
Why do you believe you have the ability to undertake the study and work involved?
What do you think being a doctor entails, apart from treating patients?
What branch of medicine do you think would interest you? Why?
What steps have you taken to try to find out whether you really do want to become a doctor?
Tell us what attracts you most and least about [Medical School].[[
If you could invite 3 people, alive or dead, to dinner, who would they be?
Thinking about your membership of a team (in a work, sport, school or other setting), can you tell us about the most important contributions you made to the team?
Tell us about a group activity you have organised. What went well and what went badly? What did you learn from it?
How do you think you will avoid problems of keeping up to date during a long career?
Medical training is long and being a doctor can be stressful. Some doctors who qualify never practice. What makes you think you will stick to it?
Do you think doctors should set a good example to their patients in their own lives? How or why might this be difficult?
What does the term ‘inequalities in health’ mean to you?
Animals that are thought to be suffering are ‘put down’. Should human suffering be treated in the same way?
Can you give me an example of how you coped with a conflict with a colleague or friend; what strategy did you use and why?
Tell me about a project, or work experience, that you have organised, and what you learned from it?
A woman who is bleeding heavily refuses to receive a blood transfusion that you are proposing. Why do you think this might be? How would you handle the issue?

That is good information, but you all are worrying too much.

I actually drove to San Antonio late, then discovered the hotel where ai planned to stay was not located where the hotel's map on their website showed it to be. Long story short, I had my interview on two hours of "nap" in the last 30 hours before the interview, and was at 60% mental capacity. I simply gave a little thought to my answers, tried not to say anything too stupid, and all was fine. It is not about "knowing" the correct answer. There is no competition like some schools. Just do not say anything that would give them reason to NOT like you.

    Relax

Yeah but some people need that kind of information. I have seen some "serious" characters in class that I truly believe they need a roadmap to "pass" the interview. I am in the process of taking some pictures of "future" doctors in class; it is just amazing

I'm hoping it helps people that need to feel they have prepared in order to "relax". But it's true what you say. As long as you don't seem like a psycho you'll probably get in no matter what you say in your interview.

Well, I told them that the reason I wanted to be a doctor was because Satan sends me messages through my TV, and they still accepted me... Я3bЯUM

Once the leanos have your money, they will never let it go.

It sounds like you know them personally? I would really like to know more about the history of the Leaño family. I know that they were a very rich and controlling family here as far back as 1920, and probably way before, but I do not know from were the family came, or how they origially gained their wealth.

I do know that there is no logic to their financial empire. It is the $3,000,000 peso question...

I do not know them personally. The whole point of my post is that a perspective student's ticket of acceptance is the 1000 dollar administration fee and the Leanos would only refund the money if they reject him or her. From reading the UAG forum for the last year and half, there is not a lot of students received their 1000 dollar back. I heard that it used to be 2000 dollars a couple of years ago,but I am sure that UAG had to lower to entrance fee because of direct competition from other off-shore schools. However, the school probably made up the difference with new fees.
