    is Unibe considered a foreign medical school or a caribbean medical school to the US

    and will this make a difference when applying for residencies? Obviously it all depends on the student, but has anyone found the lack of US clinicals to be a downfall when residency time comes around?

    It puts out FMGs/IMGs... that is essentially all that matters. This is in stark contrast to Puerto Rico, where the schools are LCME.

    Yes, the lack of US clinicals (and letters) is a very big deal.

    so FMG IMG can be used interchangably in this case. What about the fact that all clinicals are performed in the native country?

    Im new to this but i know what LCME stands for , but what about FMG / IMG? what are those?

    FMG = Foreign Medical (school) Graduate

    IMG = International Medical (school) Graduate

    a few more you will see

    USMG = United States Medical (school) Graduate - this implies LCME accreditation

    USIMG = United States (citizen or permanent resident status) International Medical (school) Graduate
