    UNIBE and the US

    Advertisements

How successful are the students at UNIBE at getting a good mark on the USMLE? How hard is it for them to go to the US after? Does any one have any statistics?

    That depends on MULTIPLE things....

    Hello,
If you are looking for a fixed percentage number, then you will not get it. The best thing to do that will answer your question is READ MY PREVIOUS POSTS...Especially my "Life After UNIBE" post. That will tell you what are the factors that contribute to success. It is not appropriate to expect success solely based on a school. Success is a 2-way street and has MULTIPLE factors involved. STOP looking for guarantees. The ONLY guarantees in life are DEATH and TAXES. PEACE!!!

    A Good Question

Since starting my site, I was curious as well. I have been receiving more mail and inquires regarding boards prep than anything else of late. I agree with Derek in the sense that hard numbers are hard to come by, but I also think it depends on the type of student and what they were doing in UNIBE during the time they were there. In my class, there were a trio of us that had taken our boards during the time that we were still in school and were able to finish up with them around graduation or soon after--- all of us have matched at our first choice programs. Others had waited until after graduation to get all of their studying done. I am less sure how those folks have ended up doing, but some are still at it. Draw your own conclusions.

Getting to the US, I guess means getting a residency. A high score is nice to have as it will open doors, but isn't mandatory depending on the program you are looking to enter. Study hard and study early I guess is the only advice I have here. Check out the site: www.angelfire.com/cantina/unibe for a couple of other insights.
