Thread: Cost of living and crime in S.D?

Well im originally from NYC and have being going to Unibe for about a year now. The cost of living here is much cheaper then anywhere in the states, but you have to negotiate everything here cause people have this misconception that UNIBE students from the states are rich. So prepare yourself to get ripped off until you get the hang of how much things are worth here. As for crime, I wont lie to you its everywhere, but if you play it safe and dont walk around wearing cargo shorts, sunglasses and flipflops letting everyone know that your american then you'll be ok. Plus you have to take precautions like not walking alone anytime of the day, never trusting anyone no matter how friendly they are, and always look around your surroundings. I would say that its no safer then NY here
