    Taking the STEP in Guadalajara

    Advertisements

There is a prometrics centre in Guadalajara, located at

    Executrain of Guadalajara
    Ave. L o p e z Mateos Sur 1480-501
    Guadalajara, JAL 45040
    Phone 52-33-3647-6622

**Second Floor** (or third, depending on how you look at it - ask at the front desk)

(L o p e z Mateos southbound just past Lazaro Cardenas - it's the office building after the hotel on the corner. Everything is on the right and if you miss it you have to go a fair way away before you can come back since the directions are separated by concrete - IF YOU MISS the turn into the building avoid turning right - it is filled with side streets that end randomly; instead aim for a left turn and pull a U turn or double back when you can).

Exam dates end December 22nd and pickup again January 15th. They run all throughout the summer.

Typically, a few days a month there is no availability in order to provide maintenance (usually the 15th or 1st of every month, except the summer). Seats are only open generally 6 months in advance.

There is an extra fee to pay in order to be tested outside of USA/Canada.- usually $175 on top of the $600 or so

Be advised that as it stands as of 2009/02, if you do not pass the step, you will not be able to complete the semester but will have to PAY FULL PRICE for the whole semester. You will be put down as "incomplete" for the second half of all classes in that semester (usually three blocks out of five).

Also, when you rejoin the semester later on, you will also have to pay full price even though you are only completing the semester.

The actual Prometric Centre has only four (4) stations, and these are used for all forms of exams i.e. not just Step 1 and Step 2 CK. Generally speaking these testing positions fill up about 4 months in advance.

They are exactly the same as all other Prometric sites world-wide, with a locker for small items, camera for picture, external ear defenders to reduce sound at every station.

Generally speaking the room tends to run a bit warm (~25-27 oC - you are doctor: use celsius).
