    Search Syntax

    Advertisements

    Hi Doc and/or Hanson:

Do you guys know if there is any type of query string syntax for the search feature which generates a valid link?

    For example,
    http://www.valuemd.com/search.php?se...ans+loans&f=47

where canadians and loans are the two words you are searching for, limited to the SGU forum (#47).

The same thing is accomplished with:
    http://www.valuemd.com/search.php?searchid=173800
however, I am not sure if this works across PHP sessions (i.e. if someone other than the person that generated the search clicks the link, will it still work), and how long a numbered search remain active before being purged.

Just wondering if there was any feature like this, as it would be great to be able to provide a clickable link to slowly ease some of the newbies posting on frequently discussed topics into using the search feature, rather than just a dogmatic "do a search."

    Thanks.
