    Study Tips for MCAT?

    Advertisements

I know this question has been asked numerous times, but I am curious to how you made it into medical school, what precautions you took prior to taking the MCAT ECT.

    Tips? Advice?

Are you considering test preparation courses at all? I know some centers do one-on-one online prep and have online videos available. But there's a lot of options, books, practice questions, videos, etc.

Best advice: Start early, don't cram.

First, be sure you are qualified! It may seem obvious, but you need to be sure that you mastered your required courses. And while expensive, comprehensive prep courses can help, there's no substitute for studying effectively (even if you take those courses). If you know how to study effectively and self assess, you can access practice exam, test yourself, learn from your mistakes, and go on to succeed. Of course, this necessitates a lot of self discipline.

1.Start early.3-6 months is what most people need to study for the MCAT, depending on the amount you plan to study each week.
2.Have a plan. Make a study schedule and stick to it.
3.Take practice tests. Identify weak areas and focus on those.

    1) official questions 3 to 4 iterations 2 if time strained
    2) old AAMC practice test: dig deep into the internet and approximately 6-8 can be found.
Both replicate to a high degree what is statistically significant on test day. Neither can capture as well a statistical picture you will see on test day. Be warned, the questions are taken to 1 degree of complexity more than you are used to.

The rest is second and 3rd order strategies.

Every year thousands of students participate in the MCAT test, but few students pass this exam. If you need medical college without MCAT entrance exam, then visit St Vincent Island Medical School, they provide the best medical education with many facilities like scholarship and clinical clerkship. ASU is the best Caribbean medical college in the region.
