    Research Day

    Advertisements

Anyone know where Dr V got the idea to have a "Research Day?"
    http://www.schi.org/research/res-day.html

What do you all think about having a Research Day? Do you think that it will be well received by the student population? Are YOU going to participate?

I think its a great idea. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened up my mail and read this. I felt really proud for some strange reason. I want to participate but I will have to find the time to get my creative juices flowing.

Research is an integral part of medicine, therefore students at any medical school should either engage or express some level of interest in scientific inquiry, beyond just memorizing information in order to pass the USMLE.

Just for the record: I was not trying to be cynical and negativistic. I am already working on my project. And I am not just "memorizing". I am going to PASS by knowing all of the concepts! Anyone else participating?

Thats good for you, but remember what Dr. S told us, "sometimes you dont learn anything until after graduating medical school". Anyway, I wasnt responding to you directly in my previous post. But I talked to a few people at school who were actually negative towards the idea.

As I recall, pessimists said the same thing about going to the moon, about Abraham Lincoln, Roger Banister, ****** Edison, etc. We are going to make it happen at St. Matthew's University School of Medicine!!!
