    Centers of Excellence

So will these clinical centers become mandatory soon? Where will they be located? I hear that NYC is a definite. What about the other two (Atlanta, Chicago, or Orlando)?

For those who do not know what these centers are, they are clinical sites where all or most core clerkships will be offered. All cores will be expected to be completed at these locations.

When did this come to be? Was a letter or memo provided to the current students? If so, will you please post it. Is Florida Hospital, in Orlando, FL, the medical facility you refer to? Thanks in advance.

Dr. Green spoke of these in his "Coffee with the Dean" he has every couple of weeks. He has said the plan is for there to be 3 of them to begin with. He did not give specific locations as he said the plan have not been finalized and contracts have not yet been signed. He did say that one location was in the south and 2 were in the north.

Can anyone add to this? I think this would be a grand idea! I believe St. George does the same thing. JP do you know anything about the clinical centers and the cities? St. Matthews is on the rise!

I actually don't know anything about this, but when I get back to the office next week I will definitely look into it.
