GWU medical school on probation by LCME

    Advertisements

We're always worried about accrediation, but we're not the only ones, apparently.

The George Washington University medical school has been put on probation by the LCME. I'm sorry I couldn't not post the link, but it is too bloody long to copy by hand (tried cutting a pasting).

Try googling "GWU medical school on probabtion by LCME" or some combination of words. They say it has to do with "facilities, curriculum management, and internal administrative processes". Thought this was pretty interesting. And I thought we sucked!

Well after hearing horror stories from a few friends who attended other Caribbean schools, we definitely don't just need a loan program...

Well... it seems like everytime we find some problems with the American schools,.. we feel a little better about our own... It may seem mean and selfish,.. but, keep in mind, GWU is still one of the leading Brand name in US medical schools, and some internal administrative problems may raise a red flag, but no mean they'll have to close down no matter how the financial market will be. Now, on the other hand, SMU can catch a cold and paralyzed in bed because the financial market sneezes.

I have done rotation with students from GWU, and they pay almost 3 times the tuitions compared to us,.. it is unfair that they are on probabation!

I have to agree in the end the student is the one who loses the most out of the deal...I mean imagine working your behind off and some paper pusher issues put you on probation...wow I would go nuts!

I wonder if in a couple of decades the LCME will start accrediting Carib schools. That would be interesting.
