Dry food should be OK as long as you pack it well. The last thing you want is to have things burst and crumbs all over your stuff. I actually brought a few favorites in my suitcases.

    Best Regards,

my only concern is when i have to answer this questin flying to US...are you bringing any food items with you? well i can't say no because it'll be a lie. but i'm afriad if i do say yes, then i'm going to be stuck talking and explaining things to security and i'm originally from middle east and this doesn't help the process

you know, i think its completely ridiculous that things have gotten so bad that someone has to fear things like this just b/c of where they're originally from. but what can you say, some people like to ruin it for the rest of the world- gR. sorry, it just makes me mad - like yesterday, i was watching the news and, did you know, that they are actually considering having a Separate airport screening system for Muslims?? what the hell?? sorry i know this isnt the appropriate thread for these comments, but it just make me so mad- im not Muslim, but even if i was i dont think i could be any more upset over this situation....

as for the food- i see everyone sayign that they're goin to bring food, etc and i thought that most everything is readily available there??

I believe the airlines only ask about food that is grown such as vegetables, plants, and fruits. You wouldn't have to tell them about dry food.
