    SJSM still fails.....Sorry about that.

    Hi all,

First of all I would like to say that I didn’t mean to hurt anyone. But if I have done that I apologize.
With due respect, I would like to add that we just cannot base our decisions on what other people say. We have to research and that’s exactly what I am doing. I am not “wasting my time” instead I am planning to save the rest of my life.
SJSM is a new school and is not fully established. So it means that there are other established schools in the Caribbean and those should be considered first by the applicants.
SJSM is not in my good books and I would recommend others to avoid it as much as they can. Even if you have been accepted, I would say it’s not late yet, think twice.
You would not be able to change your decision later on and will regret it for rest of your life.

    Thanks.

    Good Luck

    .....

No one is either faulting you or cares what you think of St. James. The point being made is do not spread the nonsense propaganda of the "AAIMG". You said yourself "we cannot rely simply on what others say". Precisely, that's why the only good research is that which is done in direct contact with school admin and students on the one hand and balanced by feedback from real-world professionals and the many who contribute to this forum.

The AAIMG is not legitimate. They are not qualified to issue any kind of judgement on anything. There is no indication who sits on or makes up the board of the AAIMG, or even that there is one. It's registered to an apartment in Carson City, Nevada. They don't return phone calls or emails. Their information is out of date. Half of their "acceptable" list is comprised of schools in the Dominican Republic which neither cater to nor serve U.S. students particularly well, judging from the usmle pass rates and residency placement, to say nothing of having to spend the entire four years in the DR, with all the difficulties that entails and being placed in the inherent disadvantage of not having done your latter two years, the clinical sciences, in U.S. hospitals.

You can't just cut and paste verbatim from a bogus website (which is exactly what you did) and then make all kinds of statements and characterizations based on such drivel. I happen to agree with your end conclusion but I disagree strongly with your superficial, specious basis for conclusions that because the "AAIMG" said it, it must be so, particularly when they have been discredited about a zillion times by anyone willing to take five minutes to understand just how non-existent their credibility is.

Here's why I think St. James is a poor choice in offshore medical education: it's too new, too unproven, has not a single grad (the one or two that get mentioned all the time didn't do their basic sciences at SJ, they transferred and in fact didn't even spend any part of their time enrolled there actually at the physical campus in Bonaire), their clinical affiliations have been shown to be bogus, their admissions personnel don't demonstrate even a reasonable grasp of many issues/questions I posed to them a few months ago (having to do with licensure and whatnot)........there are probably more excellent reasons not to pick this one, but that list is QUITE enough for me.

All I'm saying is don't drink from a poisoned well and then puke on others.
