    Pass Rate??

    Advertisements

    Hello,

New to this site. Does anyone know what the pass rate is for the USMLE's (Step One) for students that attend St. James? I tried to ask the school, but no one seems to give a direct answer.

    Thanks!
    Phil

Well, like any other med school, if you work hard you'll pass the boards. It depends entirely upon you, I think that is what cglass meant.

We see this kind of answer very often on VMD. But I think it's always relevant to ask about pass rates when comes the time to evaluate a med school. A pass rate of 30%, for example, means something goes wrong, regardless to your work...and logically, it also means less doctors practicing in the US, wich is bad when you are a caribbean student.

I agree, it's a totally relevent question and should be taken into consideration, but it is the caribbean--no one's delusional here, but you also have to consider if you have what it takes to be that 17 or 30 percent, that's all I'm saying

There was a student who finished in 04 who received a 99 percentile and a couple more who were in the top 15th percentile. Just says, if you SERIOUSLY study and have a good background before going in, you will pass.

Just saying: If you take it seriously and are reasonable intelligent, you should do fine. The bottom line is almost everyone heads back to the states and takes the Kaplan course also
