    Regarding Apartment Hunting.....

I would say you need to see what campus you will be attending. MD students go to the MD campus in Hato, so you want to look in that area, or at the MINIMUM north of Kralendijk.

If you are Pre-Med and attending the campus in town, I would recommend you look in Kralendijk and some of the smaller surrounding neighborhoods. Personally, I would stay out of Antriol and Tera Cora area.

First of all, Pre-med 1, MD 1, and MD 2 are in the new campus in Hato. And Pre-med 4, MD 3, and MD4 are in the old campus. There is a shuttle bus that takes the students that live by the old campus to the new campus. But there is no bus to take people from the new campus to the old campus. Although, this may be something that the school might work on in the future. It is recommended for new students to get housing by the old campus because everything is close by, but I live by the new campus and find it better. Hato is a very quiet and safe place, while houses by the new campus is always loud, and more run down. There is not much in Hato but houses, but there is a grocery store and a chinese restaurant that is within walking distance. I rarely need to go into town unless I need to go to the bank or pay my electricity/water bills. And that is once a month.

Thanks for the clarification mimi...our apartments are in Hato, and I agree, the area is very nice, more relaxed. I see in your post however that you say the houses by the NEW campus is always loud, more run down". I think you meant the houses by the OLD campus, correct?

I am looking for something within 5 miles of campus. I have a bike so getting there will not be an issue. Once again anny contact info or people and places to avoid would be appriciated.

    Treywilly,

What is your budget? That has a lot to do with it. You can probably find a place easily, as there is only a 2-3 mile difference at most between the 2 campuses. You will also want to ask other students how the area is, how the landlords are, etc.
