    Accepted for Spring 2015

Hey I also just got accepted for May of 2015 also! Have you bought your plane ticket yet? I'm still deciding on how early to arrive before the semester starts, rooming situations, whether I should buy a roundtrip ticket...and things like that. It'd be great to have someone else's input on a few of these things.

    Hey,

No i have not purchased any plane tickets as of yet, since it is quite a whiles away. I am thinking I'm going to go 1.5-2 weeks before the semester starts, and Ill hopefully find a place before then as well. In regards to a round trip ticket? Im going to see what works out to be cheapest, seeing as how we can only be there 90 days as a time (leave at the end of every semester). So a round trip ticket will probably be easiest? Not sure yet though !
Also, where are you from? Im from ontario, can

I was looking into plane tickets the other day because I think they may go up in price in the next couple of months. It looks like it's waaay cheaper to fly into Curacao. Around two weeks before the semester starts flying from Boston to Bonaire it's about $2,300 one way. However I found tickets as low as $180 from Boston to Curacao which is right next door to Bonaire, and you can easily get a plane for less than $100 from Curacao to Bonaire. That seems like the best way to go. I'm from Maine, so I'm pretty much the same distance away from Bonaire.

Thats wicked! Im gonna look up flights going there as well! Flights are not cheap unfortunately....and its soooo long to get there!!! Im gonna check out your suggestion for sure! Cause it seems to a smart choice! Thanks!! Im gonna try to get into contact with other students, and the school in regards to housing, and see where students in the past have stayed.. Im hoping to be very short walking distance to the school.

Hey I've also been accepted for May 2015. I think buying one way plane tickets might be cheaper than round trip. I've seen tickets range from $230-$330 generally on Delta (from EWR). Has anyone figured out their living situations yet? I've been looking at this site: sjsmgov [dot] wix [dot] com [slash] sgabonaire. It seems to have a few apartment listings. I've spoken to someone who just got back from Bonaire and the Kaya Amsterdam Apartments were spoken highly of.

Hey, I had a friend that went to Bonaire back in 2011 (he is in Chicago now), and he told me about Caribbean Court Condo/Apartments. He said that they are very nice. But I looked online, and they are really nice and reasonably priced, but you need a car to get to campus......Which I personally would like to walk to school to cut out the cost of purchasing a car. Also, do you guys know the exact address of both campus locations at Bonaire? Just hoping to be able to get an apartment/condo that is walking distance to school!!
Also, I am from Toronto, and I have been looking at one way trips to Bonaire, and its cheap for me to go... Toronto > Miami > Curacao > Bonaire... all together its 350$... flying into Curacao saves a lot of money, and you can find flights from Curacao to Bonaire for 40-50$ (its a 30 minute flight on a small propeller plane).

And let me know if you guys are starting a Facebook group!! and what the name of it is, I would totally love to join, since there are probably more of us who have been accepted, and more people know about Facebook rather than ValueMD.

From what I understand, there is a bus/shuttle that picks people up from several apartments & takes them to class. I wish the St. James website was more thorough so we could plan better because I don't know where this bus/shuttle goes specifically. I have heard that it goes to most of the ones on the sjsmgov [dot] wix [dot] com [slash] sgabonaire website, under Housing List. The only one I am really familiar with is the Kaya Amsterdam Apartments, where the bus/shuttle does stop. I also don't want to invest in a car, but I wouldn't mind picking up a bike to ride around.
I was also trying to find the school campus address, but couldn't. I think all of the classes are held in the new campus, not the old, but I'm not certain. Again, I just wish there was more information on the SJSM website. I've applied to join the May 2014 SJSM facebook group, hopefully we can get more answers there.

    Hey,

Just got this reply from my admissions advisor: Thought you guys could use this info It goes along with what you were saying:

    1. Plaza Juliana 4, Kralendijk, Bonaire, Dutch Caribbean---Kralendijk Campus

    2. Bulevard Gob. N. Debrot 200, Kralendijk, BO, Bonaire—Hato Campus

(I am having problems finding these on google maps.....If you guys find out where both campus' are...let me know...im not entirely sure why google won't recognize it in maps)

We have a bus that will take you around from campus to campus, too.
SGAbonaire [@] mail.sjsm.org is the website of the SGA who releases housing.
E-mail them and they can give you a good idea of some housing options.

sjsmgov[dot]wix[dot]com[forward slash] sgabonaire is the link where you can find housing as well.
