    What are my chances?

    Advertisements

Hey guys, I was just wondering what are my chances of getting into saint james with my grades and experience. I already got my Bachelors degree in math and biology, but my GPA is only 2.9 . I tried pulling my GPA up, but I took so many credits that it was difficult to pull it up even after doing great in last 3 semesters. I am volunteering in hospital and shadowing a physician right now. Other than that, I dont have much clinical experience, but I really want to go to medical school, and I know I can do great if I get the chance. What are my chances in getting into SJSM for JAN 2015?

not true anymore axiomofchice. at least not for anguilla campus. Dr.I and Dr. P are on the admission committee now so they are increasing standards. So far I have heard they are adamant about people having a pre-med requisites completed. MCAT will soon be recommended and probably required for 2016. The accreditation committee is hard at work on that.
Things are changing.. get in while you can, a 3.0 will be the cutoff sooner than later. Either way anything less than means you can't handle MD1 let alone MD3.

I'm not sure if you got in, but you have great chance in attending the school. Thus far you have a reasonable GPA. Your volunteer service is a plus, I'm attending in Jan 2015. you don't need a great deal of history in the medical field, but you have to show efforts are being made. Hope this helps!!!

If you apply to the Bonaire campus or the St Vincent campus, they will accept you as long as you have the money. You don't even have too have an undergraduate degree or have completed your
    Premed requirements. I am
Speaking from experience. Gpa and MCAT don't matter, as long as you are above a 2.0 which is passing.
Hell, you don't even have to speak English. I'm not bashing the school, but what I want to say is that they will give
Who ever and everyone with an equal opportunity at medical school as long as you pay the deposits, fees, and tuition.
    Good luck
