Official Spring 2006 Book list...supplements books suggestions

    Advertisements

Below is a link I found and thought to share it. Yes I did a search and did not come up with an official one. So below is the link.

    Term 1 Books
    http://qp2.sgu.edu/QuickPlace/founde.../?OpenDocument

    Question...
What additional books not on the list are helpful to 1 termers
    Anatomy: Rohens, ?, ?
    Biochem: ?
    Embryology: ?
    Histo: ?

I know too much is just as bad as to little. Trying to get a focus effecient framework to work within. For example, class notes is the core study material and text books may be used to further explain unclear concepts in the text notes. This is a general rules and may not apply to all classes.

I want to avoid using 5 text books for one subject and hence reduntant study of same concepts when I can get it from class notes and 1-2 text books as references. This will allow effecient time management for other subjects.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Some recommend BRS Anatomy by Chung, but support is mixed. Resist the temptation to become a medical library, unless you got the cash to spend and want to start now filling in the bookshelves of your future office. In future terms (2-6) the issue won't be what extra books to buy, but which ones on the list not to get.

I cant really advice you on what books to buy, coz i didnt buy any, and still did very well. The notes are pretty much complete, it helps to over over the lecture slides, which are pretty much all online, I did that for all the courses except Biochem (the lecture slides suck; just read your notes). The only book I wish I had bought was Rohen's , but believe me you probably wont read most of them books coz its all in the notes, Good luck
    Peace out

    books

Don't buy too many books; you simply won't have time to read them all. I personally bought a lot and never read them. Ask upperclassmen which books to buy and which not to buy. Notes and lectures are usually sufficient but it depends. If you, however, don't read Katzung for pharm you'll miss important concepts and questions.
