What did you get accepted with?

    Advertisements

    Hey,
I am planning on applying to SGU in the future and wanted to get an idea of GPA/MCAT and extracurricular information regarding those who have gotten accepted already. I know the averages, but I want to know the ranges. Also, if you can add the insitution that you graduated from....thanks

Ahh, what the hell, I'll bite: 3.53/32N were my stats. Canadian undergrad, American grad school. Good extracirriculars: organized overseas medical mission, college athlete, hospital volunteering, research work with 4 published papers, blah, blah, blah. No love from Canada brought me here to SGU and I'm gonna make them regret it. Good luck

What sport did you play in college vtrain?

And to stay on topic, even though there are approximately 184,652,953 other threads covering this same topic, I was 3.4 and 29O and also a college athlete.

I use to play what the guy in my avatar is celebrating about. Was going to do it professionally but then I realized I didn't have any talent.

Wow, that sounds like a pretty good application considering all your extracurriculars and grad school. I'm a Canadian finishing up 4th-year Honours undergrad applying to Canadian schools right now. I knew they were picky, but I would think someone with an application package like yours would probably get in. Crossing my fingers (and also waiting on the MCAT results that are due out next month)!

    reality check

Not to be the damper, but for Ontario schools the majority of accepted now have 3.85 and above with an MCAT score of 32 R +. Just to note I personally know a handful of applicants who did not get into Ontario for this September with those type of stats. Trust me, they are pissed considering they worked their butts off, and now they have to leave their country to study somewhere else.

That is the way it is now. There are simply not enough schools in Ontario to accept all the ones who deserve it. The system is messed up in my opinion considering we need physicians. Yes I am upset myself with this issue, but hey who am I to complain, I only had a 3.65 and 25 O. So SGU please show me the way. LOL!

Good luck all, and remember that tough times only make you stronger and the final goal much sweeter in the end.
