yeah, it's the part in front of the @sgu.edu. Should be 6 letters (possibly a number too, if your name is popular.) The initial password is your SS#, with dashes.

Out of curiousity, does anyone know why we have this funky format for an email address?
why not something more simpler like first initial , then last name @ sgu.edu?

dont know but I hate mine. I believe its supposed to be first 3 letters of your last name then first 3 letters of your first, but mine has a number in it.

This is what I Asked R. what a ridiculous way they assign our e-mail ...

I recommend you configure MS Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird to access your SGU account since it doesnt have a logout button, looks like crap, and....sucks.
