    Laundry rooms?

Quick question how are the laundry facilities on campus and or off campus, do they ever destroy anyones clothes?
That's my 2 cents and I want some change back.

yes there are detergents on the island, but expensive. bring it with you?? i did, but wish I didnt. takes up a lot of weight and for how much you do laundry, you might better buy it on the island for the convience. do the machines do damage? yes they do. i have bleach stains on a few of my colored shirts now. 10% of them work most of the time and in superdorms, the dials are missing.

what if you hire the ladies to do your wash... do they come back stained also or no? I just ask because I just spent close to a grand on a new wardrobe (I've been waiting for the right time to get new clothes and I had the cash, sort of) and I would hate for them to be destroyed

Doesn't take that long to do your own laundry. Just do the laundry on the party days...there's hardly anyone on campus. Or do it early morning after a party night...almost everyone is asleep from a hangover.

    laundry

It always gets me mad when people steal the knobs off the laundry machines....I mean seriously....why the hell would someone do that??

Laundry is sometimes a pain finding a free dryer, and if you do laundry right after someone has cleaned their recently went-hashing shoes in the machine, expect to have some more marks on your laundry than when it initially when in the machine itself.

This is rare though. The laundry machines normally work pretty well, but I wouldn't bring clothes down here that are dry-clean only....just better to be safe than sorry.

I brought down detergent, just because it is kind of pricey here and I brought down the powdered kind.

The one thing I missed most was my bucket of OxyClean. It did wonders for me back home, but unforunately, its unavailible in Grenada. So bring anything unusual from home, in case you can't get it here, and you're stuck with tough stains.

    Memories of that white shirt....*sigh*

    Oxyclean

Oxyclean is something you should bring if you can budget the weight. I used the cheap detergent they sold down here and boosted it with oxyclean it made all the difference. It also helped getting the smell out of the anatomy scrubs. Alot of people used bleach to get the smell out but i felt it made it worse. A 20 min soak in oxyclean and some a scoop of Grenadian detergent and my scrubs never stunk. As far as the knobs go, either bring down a cheap pair of pliers or buy them here at the hardware store in spice land, that way you never need to go hunted for a knob or risk breaking your room keys.

when you take a look at the brown, murky water that is washing your clothes your prone to double the amount of detergent you put in in each cycle
