Thread: Loans available for SGU

Since I'm going to the vet school, I really only had one option which is Ed-Invest. With either school, med or vet, you need a 650. Your credit score isn't that bad, if you have any balances on your c-cards pay them off, that should help (about 30 percent of score). Then try disputing the collection agency reports or make sure they at least show up as paid. Dispute anything else negative like late payments. I had two collections as well, got them erased by asking the collection agency to erase them after I paid them and told them it the account was opened withou my auth.

There are a few different loan options available. Among the more frequently used:

Ed-Invest http://www.ed-invest.com
TERI http://www.teri.org
KeyBank Medachiever http://www.key.com

And of course, Federal Staffords.

at key.com for the medachiever loan it says the loans are available for accredited non-profit schools, yet in the school list it lists SGU under NY. Is key's medachiever still available for SGU? and is it a better option than ed-invest? I didn't see a 3% fee or similar off the top of the loan on the website like ed-invest has.

Check with Key directly, but I believe they have a new policy that disapproves all Caribbean schools except for the ones with Federal Staffords (SGU, Ross, AUC)

I am new to this forum. I was accepted to auc, ross and sgu fall 2004. i could not attend b/c my credit went bad. 6months prior attending med sch, i was in an accident that require major surgeries. i quit working for at least 4months. 2 months after my surgery, the hospiatl sent my bills to collection agency. even my credit card bills suffered too. now i have recover and ready to start jen 06, and i have paid off all my medical and credit card bills. i have also succeedd in disputing most of those bills. my score went from 460 to 651, 655, and 660 respectively. But i have a problem, i still have 3 bills showing "paid after chargeoff". the creditors refused to remove it, example cap1. please, advice me on this; do you think i can be able to get loan even with the paid chargeoff from salimae or ed-invest? i cannot find any cosigner. i want to go to med. school at all cost.

my loan is from medachiever... they said that SGU still gets it.... and there is no *** on borrowing.. thank the lord.

uh.... i dont know why that got 3 stars... it was supposed to say the shortened version of maximum.... which is ***... is that a bad word on here?
